Why compress files in the browser?
Most online compressors upload your photos and documents to a server you do not control. FileForge does the work locally using your browser's own imaging engine. Nothing is transmitted, nothing is stored, and there is no queue to wait in.
Supported formats
JPEG, PNG and WebP for images, plus PDF documents. Convert between image formats, shrink a photo to a target width, or reduce a scanned PDF that is too large to email.
How much smaller will my file be?
A typical phone photo drops by 60 to 90 percent at quality 80 with no visible difference. Screenshots saved as PNG often shrink further when converted to WebP. Scanned PDFs usually lose more than half their size.
